Pink Shamrocks...
A Maker's Dream Come To Life!

Why did I want to be a maker?
As a kid, I loved drawing horses and crafting! I lived in a very small town so arts supplies were not easy to find. I made things like carving potatoes for stamps and drawing on the backside of old greeting cards. I took shop class when the girls in my class took Home Economics and loved Drafting Class. I went with my Mom when she shopped yard sales, auctions, and antique shops.  I guess you could say the things I love are in my DNA!

Fast forward a whole bunch of years, I recently completed my PhD or as I fondly call it the world's longest book report. I found a lot more time on my hands and wasn't sure what to do but I knew I didn't want to write for a while! I needed a creative outlet. I would hang out in my husband's woodshop tinkering on the lathe and rummaging though his scrap bin to make signs. I discovered a love of paper crafting and mixed media art projects. I made items for craft shows and gained a group of customers who wanted to see what I would make next. Now I have a fulfilling side hustle that brings me joy!

What's with the name?
Great Question!  Pink is my favorite color and being part Irish, I love shamrocks so there it is!

Where do you find this cool stuff?
My husband reclaims barnwood so I started tagging along during tear downs. Check him out at www.gordonwoodwork.com I found all sorts of amazing unique things in old barns! I thought it would be fun to give these items a new life so I began creating upcycled decor. I find such cool things at flea markets, farm auctions, yard sales, and I love curb alerts.

So what do you make?
My work includes junk journals, handmade cards, stationary, barnwood crafts, prints, watercolors, and decor.  As I'm a tad bit of a hoarder, I now offer supplies to crafters and have been so inspired by their creations!

Where is your happy place?
We live in a small farm community surrounded by nature in a log home in southeast Michigan. My studio and my husband's woodshop are here so we get to pursue our creative passions and sometimes we even collaborate!

What about your family?
We have fur kids. We love animals and have volunteered for dog rescues and been foster doggie parents. We are kind of lousy at fostering because we have adopted so many of our fosters! Our three rescue dogs , Petey, Brinna, and Lily are constant companions and love spending time in my studio as the woodshop isn't safe for them. Watch for them to make special guest appearances on my YouTube channel!
